Frequently Asked Questions
Does my Acura key remember my seat and mirror settings?
On many Acuras, yes. The MDX, RDX, TLX and others tie driver memory (seat, mirrors, climate) to the specific fob, so each key recalls its own profile once it's programmed to the car.
Is an Acura key the same as a Honda key?
They share a lot of the same underlying system, but the fob, FCC ID, and chip still have to match your exact Acura model and year. Don't assume a Honda key will fit. Go by the FCC ID and part number printed on your current Acura key.
How much does the dealer charge for an Acura key?
Usually $350 to $600 or more once the key, cutting, and programming are tallied, with the keyless models that include remote start at the top. Ours cover the same key for a fraction of it.
What battery is in an Acura smart key?
Most Acura smart keys and remotes run a CR2032 coin cell. If the range has shrunk or the fob only works pressed against the start button, a fresh battery is the first thing to try.
Do you have a key for the older Integra or RSX?
We do, along with the TL, TSX and RL and the current Integra. Older Acuras often use a transponder or remote-head key instead of a smart fob, so match your year and FCC ID to be sure.
