Hyundai

Collection: Hyundai

Hyundai Motor Company, founded in 1967 in Seoul, South Korea, began as part of Hyundai Engineering and Construction and quickly grew into its own automotive brand. Its first vehicle, the Hyundai Cortina (1968), was built in partnership with Ford, but by 1975 Hyundai released the Pony—the first car fully designed and manufactured in Korea. Entering the U.S. market in 1986 with the affordable Hyundai Excel, the company initially gained attention for low prices but struggled with reliability. In the 2000s, Hyundai transformed its reputation by investing heavily in quality, design, and technology, introducing popular models like the Elantra, Sonata, and Santa Fe, all backed by a groundbreaking 10-year/100,000-mile warranty. Today, Hyundai is recognized as a global leader in innovation, offering advanced electric vehicles like the Ioniq 5 and hydrogen-powered NEXO, while competing head-to-head with the world’s top automakers through its focus on performance, reliability, and forward-thinking design.
