Frequently Asked Questions
Does my Telluride or Sorento use a smart key?
Most do on the mid and upper trims, with push-button start and a proximity fob. Base trims and older years may use a flip key. The FCC ID on your current key, listed on every product, confirms it.
Is a Kia key the same as a Hyundai key?
They come from the same parent company and the technology is related, but the fobs and FCC IDs are model-specific. A Hyundai key won't reliably fit a Kia, so match the numbers on your own key.
How much is a Kia key at the dealer?
Usually $205 to $435 programmed, with proximity smart keys at the higher end. Ours come in well below that.
What battery does a Kia fob use?
Most Kia smart keys and remotes use a CR2032. If your range has shrunk or the buttons feel unreliable, a fresh battery is the first and cheapest thing to try.
Do you have keys for the Kia Soul and older Optima?
We do, along with the current lineup. Older Kias often use a flip or transponder key rather than a smart fob, so match your year and FCC ID.
