Frequently Asked Questions

Does the SecuriCode keypad mean I don't need a key?

The keypad lets you unlock and even start some Lincolns without the fob in hand, but the car still needs a programmed key to run normally and for valet, spare, and resale. It's a convenience, not a replacement for the key.

Can I program a Lincoln key myself?

On many Lincolns, if you already have two working keys, you can add a third with a simple on-board sequence. Down to one key or a push-button model? You'll likely need a locksmith. Our key programming page covers both.

Is a Lincoln key the same as a Ford key?

They share Ford's system and the PATS anti-theft setup, but the Lincoln fob and FCC ID are model-specific. Don't assume a Ford key will fit; match the numbers on yours.

How much is a Lincoln key at the dealer?

Usually $320 to $560 programmed, with the big SUV smart keys at the higher end. Ours come in well under that.

Do you carry keys for the older Town Car?

We do, along with the current Navigator and Aviator. The Town Car uses a transponder key with a separate remote, so match your year and the numbers on your key.
